How much do I charge?
I charge $75/hour for website updates and consulting. Please note that a premium charge may apply for urgent or emergency work requested outside of normal business hours.
Each project is custom-built so I will create a quote for you based on your specific website needs. A basic website starts at $1,500.
If you’re ready… let’s get started.
Let’s Get Started …
Here are some steps to help you get started. I’m happy to walk you through this process, just get in touch.
Step One: Assessing your needs.
You may wish to start by downloading my free Website Planner. Completing this document will walk your through the process of articulating your needs and when you’re done you can send it to me so I will clearly understand your pr
Step Two: register a domain name.
I recommend registering domains with Godaddy.com. It is good to choose a short brandable name that also has a main keyword. I recommend registering both the .ca and the .com if they are available.
Step Three: Sign-up for web hosting or let me take care of you webhost for you.
Hostgator is my favourite host. If you need some help, give me a call. I would be happy to walk you through the process.
HostGator is one of the world’s top 10 largest web hosting companies with more than 8,000,000 hosted domains. They have over 850 employees to provide you superior around the clock support. They are the perfect choice whether you are looking for business, personal, or even Fortune 500 hosting.
Every web hosting plan comes with a 45 day money back guarantee, 99.9% uptime guarantee, and is fully guaranteed by the CEO himself. If you ever have a problem with the regular support, just ask that your ticket be assigned to Adam and he will personally take the time to give you the VIP attention that you deserve.
I’ll need you to send me the login information for the domain registrar and the hosting company so that I can point the domain to the host and install WordPress on the hosting account. File all this information so you can find it easily when you need it again.
Step Four: Create a Site Map & Wireframe
If you skipped the Website Planner from step one please prepare a site map. This free tool will help you create your site map.
You could even go to the next level and create your own wireframe (a simple visual guide that represents the framework of a website). I recommend that you use Mockingbird, a free online wireframing tool. The site map and wireframe process will help you recognize the different page elements that your site needs.
If you have any questions about any of these steps, please contact me.
